Our program wouldn't be possible without the dedicated facilitators, recorders and other volunteers that staff our events and lend their expertise. There are many opportunities to get involved in our work:
Facilitators guide discussions while identifing common values, managing different styles of expression, and effectively handling conflicts — all while remaining impartial to the topic of conversation. Facilitation skills are becoming increasingly valuable in nearly all professional environments.
One KC Voice trains facilitators and helps connect motivated individuals with the opportunity to use their new or refreshed skills in communities around the region. Any new training opportunities will be posted on this page.
Scholarships may be available for ESL, diversity, low-income and student facilitators. E-mail info@onekcvoice.org for more information.
Our work depends heavily on talented listeners who process and record our live engagements. As far as we're concerned, taking people's spoken ideas and putting them down on paper is an art. Our program wouldn't exist without detailed records of the public's input.
Occasionally we conduct large-scale community participation events that require volunteers for a number of tasks, such as registration, room monitors, interpreters, translators and more.
If you're interested in learning more about these opportunities, please let us know at info@onekcvoice.org.
