
Today's students live in a world of rapid technological change in which the best jobs and most promising careers increasingly require a solid background in math, engineering, technology and science (METS). Unfortunately, recent studies suggest that few students have the skills that they'll need to succeed in the new economy. What can the Kansas City region do to remain competitive in the new global economy?
Public Agenda and the Kansas City Regional METS Leadership Coalition, a coalition of leaders dedicated to supporting METS achievement, are leading a multi-year public engagement initiative to improve METS education and results for students in the region.

The initiative is partnering with local organizations to carry out a series of exciting Community Conversations involving students, parents, teachers and community leaders around METS education.
Ten communities across the Kansas City region will work with Public Agenda to host Community Conversations about how to improve opportunities for young people and support economic growth.
