Johnson County Community Conversation

Participants in a Community Conversation develop ideas for improving METS education in Johnson County.

The organizing team is currently working on the final report. So far the following priorities for action have been identified:

  • Focus on the pipeline: identify and make public current METS activities
  • Identify a possible "clearinghouse" for activities, such as KC Science, Inc / Johnson County Library
  • Identify and expand internship opportunities
  • Follow up on existing models, e.g. YouthFriends, CAPS, etc.
  • Try to solidify partnerships between school districts, colleges and
    area industry
