Get involved in planning issues at the state, regional, and local levels (i.e. lobby for changes to policies and ordinances to support sound development practices, attend City/County Commission meetings, and write letters to the editor).
Support your local retailers and established downtown areas.
Vote for candidates who support these issues.
Join your neighborhood organization, if available. If your neighborhood does not have a group focused on city/county planning issues, organize one.
