Kickoff event

Imagine KC officially started Saturday, Oct. 11, with a kickoff event that created the foundation for the project. This innovative forum consisted of a series of nearly 30 concurrent small-group discussions. The topics of discussion were generated by participants, and the discussions were led by participants. You can review main points of the conversations on our feedback page.

Workshops

A series of workshops will be held in fall 2008 with community groups to refine the topics brought up at the October kickoff event. Groups will be One KC Voice network partners, and you're invited to attend a workshop.

Spring 2009

Conversation-in-a-box

There's no better way to learn more about your friends and acquaintances than by holding a discussion to talk about what our community should look like in the future. In spring 2009, One KC Voice will develop a kit that will allow community groups, groups of friends, co-workers or any other small group to conduct their own discussions and submit their thoughts independently of a facilitated session. Your group's responses may be used on-air at the live, televised forum finale on April 22, 2009. More details will be available soon, but for now, you can get on the list to receive a kit.

Televised forum–Live!

It all leads up to this: April 22, 2009. The stage is set, and specific questions are ready to be asked. How can we get from here to there? What will it take to make our region what we envision it should be in 20, 30 or 40 years?

There are no answers until you, as a member of a live studio audience at KCPT — or as a participant in a discussion at a satellite or watch-party location — create them. Get on the mailing list early to receive notification about how you can participate.
