"Landfilled" public recycling workshops

Do you have a recommendation that will make local recycling programs better? July is your chance to share it with other citizens, professionals and decision-makers.

One KC Voice is moving into the second phase — a series of five workshops — of its "Landfilled" community discussion series. The project has taken the program to nearly 25 communities across the region to talk to citizens about landfill capacity and recycling.

The workshops will take themes from the discussions and ask citizens for their recommendations for addressing those issues. The recommendations that result from the workshops will be given to the MARC Solid Waste Management District, which serves as a regional solid waste planning agency for local governments in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri, and works cooperatively with Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties in Kansas.

WORKSHOP DETAILS

There will be five workshops held in various locations. All events will be held in Missouri except for the Roeland Park event. Each workshop will have a theme, but the majority of the content will be very similar:
